Bebe Rexha performed her latest hit “True Religion,” on Jimmy Kimmel wearing a custom look by Natalia Fedner and Christian Cowan. Cowan created the structured lacey black corset- while Fedner created the outer layers of gunmetal chain and crystals using her patented 6-way stretch metal chain textile. Fedner also created the headpiece, choker, and hand-bracelet that Rexha wore.

On Instagram, Natalia wrote about the look: “The look is made from new and dead stock denim, dead stock cotton, dead stock silk chiffon, aluminum and copper silver colored chains, and crystals. I made the top from scratch in my usual knitting way. The jacket and jeans I distressed the hell out of – and then incorporated the same materials that were used for the top. The concept and idea goes to the amazing Nicolas Bru who reached out about making Shak a distressed denim look – and we brainstormed how to make it original but in the same DNA as my knitting technique that is used for her tour look”

Shakira’s dancers also wore Natalia Fedner looks. The looks were styled and creative directed by Shakira’s long time stylist, Nicolas Bru.

From Natalia’s Design Journal: The sketching process started in September, with swatch creation in October, and the beginning of making the dress in November (the dress took over 2 months to create and perfect). Some people buy their bread, others buy the dough and bake their bread, and yet others make the dough and then bake their bread. This was a true “make the dough to make the bread” process. The fabric started out white and I hand dyed it to the perfect beige and sandy tones (the process of choosing the perfect shades took over three weeks of creating dye samples and swatches). Next we hand cut the 3 chosen shades into long strips that I could knit with. I incorporated chains in three colors to add to the sparkle and depth of the fabric. And finally a crystallizer spent over 30 hours individually adding beautiful rose gold Swarovski crystals to the dress to make it truly glow under the stage lights. This was all done under the direction and guidance of Nicolas Bru . The dress traveled back and forth between Miami and Los Angeles as we tweaked it to make it the absolute perfect silhouette – always keeping in mind the importance of movement and stage presence. Finally, Nicolas decided it would be best to send me to Mexico City for the final fittings with Shakira. This was a dream come true in so many ways. Working with her tailors and team was awesome. And meeting and working with Shakira was a childhood dream come true. She is the ultimate icon – she is everything you wish her to be – as inspiring and beautiful in person as she is on the big screens.
Shakira surprised everyone at Coachella when she appeared on stage during Bizarrap’s performance on Night 1 of 2024’s Coachella. She took over the stage in a firey outfit designed and made by Natalia Fedner. Continuing her tradition of putting sustainability first, Fedner used dead-stock silk chiffon and non toxic dyes to create the look. The inspiration was fire- and Fedner embroidered the outfit with metallic chains in red, gold, and black to help add to the smoldering effect. She also made matching boot covers and arm covers. The look was styled and overseen by Shakira’s long time stylist, Nicolas Bru.

Megan Thee Stallion’s new music video “HISS” is a fashion tour de force. Natalia Fedner was selected by creative director and stylist Zerina Akers to design and make the red “Capillary” dress. Fedner took deadstock silk chiffon, cut it into continuous ribbons, and knit those ribbons into panels. The panels were sewn together to create the illusion of “a capillary network”. And of course, Megan brought the very sustainable dress to life in a spectacular way.
Natalia Fedner brought her brand’s DNA to the Bloomingdales project, while maintaining the integrity of the iconic Big Brown Bag kraft paper aesthetic. She created a special chainmail made from actual Bloomingdale’s Big Brown Bags. This tiny paper chainmail, like her metal designs, is entirely hand made. The process starts by cutting the BBBs into 8.5 x 11” sheets, ironing them flat, then cutting the sheets into thousands of small strips using a hand held paper cutter, and finally taping them together with little double sided tabs to create a honeycomb like pattern. Fedner used this technique to create the skirt for the project, finishing it off with a Bloomingdales waistband (sourced from the side of the bag). The paper skirt is delicate, but because of the technique I developed for the project, it actually stretches quite a bit and allows a full range of movement! For the top, She wanted to design something a little more clean and simple that really focused on the theme. So she opted for a 90’s style bandeau top with the famous words front and center, integrating hand straps from actual bags to create shoulder straps for the top. By incorporating a few smart darts in the front and some corset work in the back, she was able to transition a Big Brown Bag into a Small Sleek Top. The overall silhouette of the look gives a wink to the 1950s, celebrating Bloomingdales lasting impact on fashion. Swipe through for a small taste of BTS – more to come! In the world of celebrities, there is perhaps no greater honor than working for Queen B. And for a designer, being asked to create looks for multiple projects over the years for someone like Beyoncé, is validating and uplifting. For “Renaissance” art work, Beyoncé wore Natalia Fedner’s Garter Swarovski Crystal & Chain Set and paired it with the Crystal Thong. This is Fedner’s 3rd major project with Beyonce and her team, in addition to Black Is King and Lemonade. Renaissance album art was styled by Marni Senofonte and KJ Moody, with creative direction by Andrew Makadsi.
Designing for Lenny Kravitz is one of life’s greatest gifts. In a collaboration with Rodney Burns, Natalia Fedner created a Rhodium colored Metal Tank (with cape!) for Lenny’s red carpet look. The top was made from 2100 feet of rhodium plated copper chain and sterling silver. She also created a one of a kind shoulder two tone “pauldron” for his unforgettable performance with H.E.R and Travis Barker. The shoulder piece was made of two pieces of her patented textile (rhodium and brass colored)- that were draped, sculpted, and secured to a shoulder pad provided by Chrome Hearts (who made the suit it was attached to). Creative direction and the ideas for both looks were by costume designer and stylist Rodney Burns of Church Boutique. ]
Fedner has designed for Kravitz in the past, including his Super Bowl performance with Katy Perry, his Let Love Rule European tour, his Raise Vibrations tour, and his MTV Video Music Awards Red Carpet look.
Alicia Keys wore a one-of-a-kind, gold chain resin corset molded and created by Natalia Fedner. Truly one of one. Keys paired it with a custom Balmain suit for her medley performance at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards commemorating 20 years of “Song In A Minor”. Styling by Jason Bolden assisted by John Mumblo.

The silk material actually started out as a roll of deadstock fabric leftover at the end of another designer’s season. Rather than buying new materials, Natalia is committed to purchasing deadstock fabric whenever possible. By cutting it into ribbon yarn and then knitting it, she gives the material a completely new life without any impact on the environment or animals, making it truly sustainability. Rather than buying new materials, Natalia is committed to purchasing deadstock fabric whenever possible. By cutting it into ribbon yarn and then knitting it, she gives the material a completely new life without any impact on the environment or animals, making it truly sustainable. This is done with all the knit silk pieces in the line. Because of Fedner’s vegan economic principles, her company does not buy new silk or wool materials. The unique design was created under the direction of Jenner’s stylists, sisters Mackenzie and Alexandra Grandquist.
